Things Looking Up
March 7, 2007 by jon.
Take a look at this recent article in the Wall Street Journal. You won’t necessarily see it in all papers, but it is giving a positive outlook on the progress of the Surge in Iraq. I know I don’t normally post much about politics, but this one needs to be talked about.

Thanks for this idea, Jon
December 2, 2006 by Nancy.
Hi Jon, Kala, Bradley, and Robyn,
This is a great way for me to send you messages. I just have to make sure to take the time to do it.
I am so glad that Rob was able to visit you for Thanksgiving. He said he enjoyed himself. It was good for him to see all the relatives, also. I feel sorry for Nan, with the steroids she is on. I don’t know if she is going to go off of them or what, be we were surprised to see her in September. She seems to feel well.
I have been extremely busy. I went to the Dr. a couple weeks ago and they knees. I definitely have osteoarthritis. I am supposed to walk as much as possible and do daily exercises. The exercises are very simple and have helped all ready. I think I just needed to get the muscles stretched out.
I am really enjoying my experience online with UOP. I am almost finished with my third week of training and have one week to go. I hope that I get the job. I still have to be mentored through a class, then if I do well I will be invited to join the faculty. They do have all my information, and I am all ready set up on payroll. Working online is really great, because I can take more time to answer questions. But the assignments are thought provoking and I really work on my answers. In addition we need to make 3-6 postings a day 5 days out of 7 to the other class members. I have been online a lot. I can sometimes get on at a school where I am teaching, and that helps.
We are planning on getting our Christmas tree today. We don’t cut one anymore. We go to a very nice nursery in Parker were they have them all indoors. That is good today because it is really cold. They recut the base, then bundle it and put in on our car.
Love to you all,
Mom/Grandma
PS Can you put spell-check on this program? My messages can’t leave home without it.
PPS Sorry this is so long!

A Best Friend Gone
September 10, 2006 by Kala.
For those of you who don’t know….we put Cinnamin down on August 16th. She had developed cancer a few months ago and the tumors had begun to interfere with her breathing. It was a very tough decision; however, we decided - as a family - that it was time. We’ve been slowly getting adjusted to our house being quiet. Still stepping over where Cinnamin would sleep during the night and opening the door very carefully when we come home. Animal Planet still does me in - it’s amazing what can bring the tears on. The kids are ready for another animal but I’m not quite there yet. Maybe in a few months. I’ve been working on de-hairing our house and just getting used to not having her here. This is the first time in our married life that we haven’t had her. Feels like a void.
